Mindfulness
a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, used as a therapeutic technique.
Sit down and close your eyes, breathe in and out through your nose only. Don't talk. What to you feel, smell, and hear?
See Think Wonder
This is an exercise to learn about this history of art and to learn to talk about art. What do you see in the picture? What do you think is happening and what was the artist trying to tell you with this picture? What does this picture make you wonder about?

William H. Johnson painted picture of people living their every day lives: going to church, working and playing, sewing and painting, farming and building. What sorts of everyday things do you do that you can draw pictures of? Why is it important to draw pictures of every day activities?
Elements: line, texture: imples and actual, space: shape and form, colour: value, hue, saturation and the additions of mark making, and materiality balance, rhythm, pattern, emphasis, contrast, unity and movement.
Principles: Use the elements of art and design – line, shape/form, space, value, colour and texture – to create a composition as a whole
Art Elements
The great thing about learning about the arts is that you can do it with out art supplies or making a mess (although that part is super fun too) each of the categories below will give you a variety of prompts to learn about the particular element through mental and physical activities as well as through simple art projects the require some household supplies. Learning dosent have to take place at home either.
