What is a Mandala

A Mandala is the Sanskrit word for circle. A mandala is a work of art that has origins in that are spiritual in nature.

Mandalas typically have radial symmetry; designs that create symmetry from a central access. A variety of themes and colors can be used to create a mandala ingive it furthur meaning.

Assignment

Make your own mandala

Fold a paper to make a square. Then fold it in half corner to corner and side to side to create 8 raidi coming from the center point.

Begin drawing each shape on one of the raidi. Repeating the shape all the way around the square to create a symmetrical design.
