Mary Blair (born Mary Browne Robinson; October 21, 1911 – July 26, 1978) was an American artist, animator, and designer. She was prominent in producing art and animation for The Walt Disney Company, drawing concept art for such films as Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Song of the South and Cinderella.[1] Blair also created character designs for enduring attractions such as Disneyland's It's a Small World, the fiesta scene in El Rio del Tiempo in the Mexico pavilion in Epcot's World Showcase, and an enormous mosaic inside Disney's Contemporary Resort. Several of her illustrated children's books from the 1950s remain in print, such as I Can Fly by Ruth Krauss. We will create a castle or a city using basic shapes and colors
Start by drawing a line across the bottom of your page.
On that line, draw a series of rectangles. These will be your buildings or castle turrets
Add shapes like semicircles, triangles and trapezoids to the top of your rectangles for roofs.
on the front of each rectangle draw 2-3 horizontal lines, dividing each rectangle into sections.
Decorate each section by adding other shapes, further diving that space or adding other embellishments such as flowers. stars or leaves.
When you are done, color it in. You may use random colors or use a theme such as warm or cool colors, a focal point color, or monochrome.
